Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo stock management

In Switzerland (Europe) it's almost completely sold out. Next delivery wave is mid March. I was working at an electronic store on friday and saturday and the demand on the console seemed very high. We had many customers at the store and on the phone who wanted a Switch, but all consoles were almost immediately sold out. The same goes for any other electronic retail store in Switzerland and for Zelda BOTW. I mean, it's impossible at the moment to get the standard edition of the game here. I would have never expected that. But we had very good promotion for the Switch here in daily newspapers, radio and TV.

Does anyone know how it has done in Japan? Just general reception or how the stock is on store shelves...

awesome I am in Australia, lots of stock everywhere here, but very happy to hear it is selling well. will wait till their are more games before I buy personally as Zelda isn't my thing.

I'm in Australia as well and like you noticed lots of stock but it's the standard grey , you have to preorder if you want neon colours.

I had a couple of friends buy the Neon online this morning from Big W, apparently they still had Neon stock (at least they did this morning).

It seems like stores received a fairly healthy supply of Switches, and demand seemed decently strong. I doubt it will do ps4 or xbox one numbers in the USA, but it seems like a healthy launch so far.

Still not listed online at a few retailers I checked, but is to be expected

Didn't check at the actual stores though, but would be a bad move if Nintendo limited supply :/

It's sold out almost everywhere here in Portland OR. Including Best Buy, GameStop, and all but one target. Also sold out on Amazon

It apparently sold better in US than EU. I could order one right now on Amazon FR and receive it today. Other people on GAF from EU said that they can buy one pretty easily, it doesn't seem completely out of stock here.

I could see that making sense, Americans are constantly "go go go" and this product definitely caters to that.

Honestly this is the first Nintendo console I've considered owning since the GameCube, which was an excellent console imo.

Seems like theres plenty of stock left in europe.

Not sure about the other shops here in Australia but the main gaming shop (EbGames) has the next stock at April.

In Canberra, EB Games, JB, Big W, Target all have stock available in store (was in there this morning looking for something else).

Some of the games have lesser points or small increase on the pre orders points it had before the game being released. I think it shows how the demand > Stock.

We will find out on wednesday night in Japan time to get numbers for the switch and its games. And I think we will also find out the percentage of the games sold over how many stock they had.
