Forums - Gaming - The JoyCon grip feels very natural

Good morning, fellas. After playing Zelda extensively yesterday, I realized that the JoyCon grip feels so good in my hands that I almost forgot I held a controller. This thing diminishes my interest in buying a pro controller largely. What's your first impression?

Does that come with the Switch? I have yet to pick up my Switch.

Your talking about the thing the joycon slides into right? Yea it's pretty comfortable, not sure why there is a rush to get a 80 buck pro controller.

It feels a bit small in my hands...though not uncomfortably so. I feel like some of the buttons are crammed in close together, so I'll probably look to get a new controller that improves that.

The material is really nice though.

I think its fine but a bit small and I'm not yet convinced about the sticks. Bought a pro controller anyway for multiplayer.

Edit. I find the pro controller much better. It may in part be due to the fact that I'm starting to get more familiar with the controls but in my first session using it,  it just felt more natural. (And this is from someone who barely used the pro controllers in the previous two gens)

Yeah it's good, I also bought a pro controller and that's really nice, better then the joy con for me

The joycon isn't bad, but I prefer the pro controller.

Yes it comes with it.

Agreed. I bought a pro controller partially to have a 2nd/3rd controller off the bat and partly in case I hated the joycon, but now I almost wish I hadn't because the joycon feel just fine to me. Smaller than I expected, maybe even bordering on too small for my somewhat larger mitts. The dog controller also sometimes takes me some time to get used to having the two joysticks not level with eachother, and I'm not crazy about directional buttons as compared to the dpad.. Overall though, still better than I expected. Comfortable, light, very intuitive feel, not overly complex to use.
