Forums - Sony - I'm about to pull the trigger on PSN Plus, but help me out here.

Are you sure about losing the games (or at least the right to download them)?

I thought it was like Xbox Live, the games are unlocked for your account for life (and you can just re-install them from the store like any other games you bought) if you grabbed them while being a subscriber.

I was really under the impression it was the same with Play Station Network.

Its a better system on XBL.  They just unlock and you have to do nothing to download them at a later date.  On PS Plus, you either have the check them out or add them to your library but you have to do something.

PSPlus, XBox live gold they are both horrible IMO.
I also don't game online on consoles and I will buy all games I want to play online on PC.

Now if you ever feel like playing online, since you don't do it every month, you can just grab a code from the internet for cheap and use that, I did that to co-op with a friend in Bloodborne once, which works fine.

Now the value of PSPlus comes in 2 ways: DIscounts on digital purchases and games you get to play each month, which are not free but you PAY FOR.

If those 2 things are not worth it and you don't play online enough to be subscribed, obviously cancell. If nobody uses this service online gaming will be free once again and altough its unlikely to happen anytime soon I do think these services will change over time to add more value instead of online play (hopefully)

With people constantly criticize Nintendo's online, I'm kind of glad they didn't go for the $60 route and will simply use it for Internet servers/additional profit.

Seems like it's a gamble on whether it's worth it or not, which I don't think is that neat.
