So I am doing the main quest in Gerudo, and there is a part of the game where you confront a certain group, and the leader's character is pretty funny. This game has a lot of Zelda/Okami-esque humor, which I like.

OMG the dungeons. I was obliged to stand up and clap like an idiot after beating one. What an astonishing level design. Legendary.

Only done one dungeon. But I just had a huge holy shit moment doing a trial.

I had read one guy in a review mention how he was having a hard time doing a motion sensing trial, kyou know direct a ball through a maze by tilting controller. He solved it by quickly flipping the maz upside down, which was a flas surface and then was easily able ot do it. He was super excited because Nintendo let him think outside the box to solve differen than the standard.

I just had one of those moments. There was this trial that had these spiky balls hanging and you were expected to magnetize them to the side and then run past them while they swung. After getting knocked off like 10 times (super hard to get them to swing directly sideways and not at angle, thsu knocking you off as you work on next one. But I noticed they were hanging from these bars. So I picked up the ball and wound it around the bar so that the chain was shorter and the balls were hanging up high and I could just walk under them.

So damn rewarding. Feels like I just pulled a Kirk and cheated on the Kobayashi Maru.

As for how far I am, as i said beat one dungeon. Have about 24 shrines beaten. Found like 50 korok seeds. I tried going to Ganon. Scary as F going to the castle, its like everything there can one shot you. Stealth and climb your way around. Made my way super up high, like isnide the castle, didn't see Ganon. Saw something else, grabbed some great loot and decided to flee and come back another day.

THis game is just massive. So many things I have seen but not completed. There is like 10 distractions for each one you do do. I have so so many things i have to go back and do, and I have still only seen half the map. I bet I could spend 50 hours on only the map I have seen. Thought the reward fro finishign the dungeon I did was amazing, can't wait to see what other dungeons give.

Also there is times I see something in teh world and its just like "wtf am I supposed to do with that thing? Is there a quest for that? Do I do something with it? Or is it just a cool ass Lore type of thing built into the world."

I came up with this same solution...

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

At 8 hearts + 2 extra stamina, I uncovered half of the map, entered Hyrule castle, spent more than 30 seeds and several thousand rupees and found two large ferries. But I didn't start the first story quest in the first village yet.

I just finished my first dungeon, the one by Zora's Domain. Can't say I was a fan of it

Got my ancient arrows...now I am hunting guardians. Also killed 2 Lynels so far.

So I played a lot. I have no clue how much since the switch doesn't keep track of how much we play anymore. I have been able to revieve two captured memories, 7 heart containers and 3 stamina upgrades. How much of the story have I done? Pretty much none after I got the camera. Anyway I met some tree guy who likes to expand my inventory space for a bunch of thoose koko seeds. He was at a path between kariko  village and a stable. Litterally go down the path. You can't miss him.  Apperently he wanted to go into a forest so I decided to check that forest out and well.....

Story spoilers about that forest
The forest was very far from the village with Impa. Which is near where the tree guy was near. Apperently you needed to get through the Lost Woods in order to get to it. Now if you played a zelda game before you know the main gimmick of it. It took me a while to figure out how to get through it. The 1st thing I did was follow the torches and then followed the wierd trees. Eventually I realized you could also follow the wind to get to the forest.

Anyway after the lost woods I got to the forest i needed to go. And what was standing right in the middle? The Master Sword. I of course tried to pull it up and I failed. Apperently you need a lot of heart containers for it. So from now on everytime I get a heart container I am going back to get it. But I was very surprised to see the master sword just laying there. Usually there is a big story cutscene but nope just pull it.

This game has been a blast so far. I can't wait to see what I uncover next. I was not expecting to actually do some of the story by accident!

Is that the volacno? I tried going up the volcano but all my weapon were on fire and then I was on fire and then I died. So I never went back up for of fear of dying.

I had an epic adventure scaling the Garudo mountains. I went through almost a page of frost resistance food before I ran out and had to make an exit, leaving the last peak behind.

The snow rock monsters are possible to defeat, I had one down to a sliver of health before he got his one shot kill in grr. Perhaps for the better as it took all 27 of my fire arrows, broke my bow, used more normal arrows and over half an hour of carefully positioning around an outcrop waiting for the right moment to get 1 arrow off at a time. I have nothing to withstand his cold attacks and touching him with a weapon is instant death. This game is harder then Dark Souls, I certainly die a lot more. (Still in starter gear with 3 hearts though, should really find a town or something)

I found a shrine with a minor test of strength, epic fight lol. Luckily there were pillars to give some protection. Found some really tall enemies which seem to be the cause of some slowdown. Each time I take one on the game starts struggling really hard, extreme slowdown to severe freezes while fighting. The game did crash on me once last night yet that was somewhere else. Error code, please restart console :/

Saw a Centaur with a tripple shot bow and a bunch of magic attacks. I was running out of frost resistance food so no time for a long battle with that. It killed me 1 shot anyway as almost everything else up there. Plenty of treasure chests lying around there and some treasure imps or whatever you call them. Worth exploring up there.

Then finally I ran into a shrine with a major test of strength. That was the biggest adrenaline rush since Everquest. 1 hit deaths as usual yet with my lvl 45 shield it 'only' took 2.75 hearts if only hit once, so by cancelling my 45 dmg 2-hander directly after a hit to get the shield back up I could sorta survive. As long as avoiding all the laser and spinning attacks. (Very fast mad robot)
It still broke both my good shields (none left after that to make it even harder), broke 3 weapons, broke my high level bow, used up all my saved up shock arrows (20) and another 20 normal arrows. But I survived! It dropped a dmg 60 Guardian sword++ and equivalent high level shield and spear. Now hopefully it won't break after 3 fights :/ Amazing fight.

Then I had to run off the mountain, no more cold resistance food, food stock running low, too cold up there to survive. Btw I have a bunch of orbs from completing shrines, how do you get more hearts etc? I'm playing without using fast travel so I hope I don't have to go back to the great plateau as I wouldn't know how...

Ok, got my sword, no more frost resistance, now what...

Stuck on the boss in the second dungeon that I am completing; decided to go collect weapons that would make it easier, and finished 8 shrines while doing so. I should be able to beat it the next time I get a chance to play. The dungeon was pretty tricky to figure out; it took me three hours.
