From what I heard, the hourly rankings aren't determined by how many units a product sells in the past hour. Instead, products are ranked according to sales rate. The Switch and Horizon remained at #1 even after selling out because they sold a whole lot of units, making the sales per hour really high.

Just means that whatever is at number two and under has a lot of selling to do in relation to time to dethrone whatever is at number one and out of stock.
Hey more Switch stock came in!
