It's down to 90... I hope it can stay at 90, that's always a fun threshold to be able to point to.

When is the last time we had this many great games release over a month or so? Even more problematic, I'm pretty sure I'll spend ~150 hours on just two of them... my backlog is just a lost cause at this point.

Not gonna lie... I don't understand how people end up with a back log.

Maybe its that i don't buy a lot of games per year,or that I would only buy a game after i have complted whichever one I am playing.

For me, if I am spending money on a game then I would either platinum that game or at least be one or two trophies away from doing that for me to consider it as "completed'. Only then would i buy another game. The benefit of that is that I usually only have one game at a time I am playing and also when i come around to the next game it may have dropped in price a bit.

So right now I am on horizon, after which I would be getting Mass effect. Then nier. The persona. And after that gravity rush and then resident evil 7.

Well I should clarify, by "backlog" I mean games I intend to buy and play, not games I've already purchased.

A few problems for me:
-I have hobbies that are time consuming but don't involve video games
-I have limited time for hobbies
-I like a great number of genres of games, and so have (for instance) the Wii U, Switch, PS4, Vive, and PC libraries that I'm trying to keep pace with
-I really enjoy Paradox's strategy games (and have for years now) like CK2 and EU4, and they've taken (at this point) thousands of hours from me

Basically, I just don't see how I can possibly keep up. I wind up missing out on some really great games O_o

89 is still pretty good. Much better than I thought.

No, I'm not saying a game I don't even know won't be better than Uncharted 4, but one that I already see, played a bit, and am aware of its strongs and weak points at some level, and that one of those points prevents it from reaching the likes of Uncharted 4.
I'm slamming nothing towards Nier, I was before, to be honest, the ambientation looked barren af, but playing it made my opinion lesser towards it, even as it semented it as a low point compared to its strong points, which is something that doesn't happen to Uncharted 4.

What I'm saying is pretty simple, that Nier will not be as good of a package as Uncharted 4 is, because it already showed me it won't, and thus it doesn't deserve to sit, on a supposedly professional analisys, above what Uncharted 4 reached.

But how can you be aware of its strongs and weak points, if you fail to understand the extent of these? How can you develop a sentiment of, let's say, the element of story if you haven't experienced it fully? The depthness of the gameplay after unlocking weaponry? The atmosphere past beyond the one shown in the videos (if the original Nier is anything to go by, considering that game has some aberratic changing atmospheres)? Being someone who actually doesn't know how the original Nier develops, and doesn't remotely grasp the extention of the Nier universe?

"A game I haven't played outside the demo, I hardly know anything about its predecessor, I've only watched several videos which depict one specific atmosphere which I didn't like (despite the game having more) and that I don't really get the extent of it (because I haven't played it, how could I possibly know the extention of its package?) won't be as good of a package as a game I've already extensively played on a franchise I already have a history with and thus doesn't deserve critical acclaim as much as it". That's exactly how you're sounding right now, because you've already passed judgment before Nier ever had a chance in your eyes.

It's okay, I guess. If you want to make Uncharted 4 the better of two unrelated games, then I can't stop you.

EDIT: Blergh, I meant to say "if you want to make Uncharted 4 the better of two unrelated games, one you haven't played" but my laptop was too fast for me.

Nice one. I was thinking of waiting a bit, but i might get it full price now.

I was thinking it would be considerably lower, it's still above Horizon and Nioh.

And to Wright, really not going to keep that old cycle we are used to have when we don't understand each other, not taking any of us anywhere.

But you could have the decency of quoting me at least, I like seeing that blue icon.

What reviewer fucked it down from its 94 rating?
