I guess you could say that the concepts were pretty wild;

They also developed a little project to experiment with concepts for the game, basically using the design of the original Zelda;

Kinda want a sci - fi Zelda with aliens now :/

I wouldn't think too much into those early concepts. I'm sure lots of developers tried thinking out of the box like that. They were brainstorming on how they wanted Zelda to be presented as. It's like Intelligent Systems when they were thinking of bringing the supposedly last Fire Emblem to Mars. Of course, we eventually got Awakening and here we are.
