I wasn't expecting Nier at all until I tried the demo and loved it. On the other hand I've played one Zelda game on the Game Boy and watched my sister play Twilight Princess, but never got into it. I was more an Advance Wars and Fire Emblem fan if we're talking about Nintendo games (and Pokemon 1st gen, obviously).

Have you played Saya no Uta? That game looks pretty interesting, if I were a PC gamer I'd probably get it.

I've started it quite a long time ago, but didn't go far back then. It did seem really weird and interesting, I should play it again (but it's pretty old and ugly ^^).

Well, I'm a fan of horror, so I enjoy trying to find disturbing games (well, except for games like Ethnic Cleansing which are disturbing in a different sense). However, I'm not sure if it being as old as it is is that bad, because I assumed that visual novels would age pretty well compared to other genres.

It doesn't age that badly, especially compared to other kinds of games, but you can see that the game is a bit old by looking at the art style and overall quality of the visuals IMO.

Well, I play older games all the time, so it's not as noticeable to me.

Well duh. The expectations for reviews are entirely different. I know the standard has seemingly dropped with Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, but I remember reviewers getting death threats for scoring OOT, MM, and WW anything below a 10.
