It should sell 2M in 2017. For the long term sales, it will depend on the reviews to attract new players to the IP: between 3 and 5M LT depending on those reviews.

It's strange that we don't know whether it's exclusive or just timed yet. Maybe Sony are waiting to see how much hype there is for it.
I do think Sony should buy their mascot back. I'd love for the N. Sane Trilogy to do well, then hopefully they'll give CTR the same treatment. I'd like to see a new Crash game and they could even do a new CTR to give the PS4 some sort of Mario Kart experience.
