Why the hell do they keep paying Clancy for his name?

Do the same people who read his books play these games?

Or do they have a blanket license for the use of his name and just apply it to any game that has a military theme?

Even if this game got stellar reviews, the crappy name would be enough to put me off buying it. The "H.A.W.X" part and the "Tom Clancy" part.

It's the same game, air combat was the working title for the game.

Ubisoft Romania have made the past two Blazing Angels games, both of which I have enjoyed (I am currently renting the second one) but neither have sold well at all. I want Ace Combat for the PS3 far more, AC 6 is driving me towards a 360

The Tom Clancy name will probably help though... It's almost like a Mario when it comes to these kinds of games.
