I find it funny how people don't consider non-gaming features to be gimmicks but things like touch screens, motion controls or portability are gimmicks.

is it still a gimmick if your whole gaming library use it? Cmon it's not difficult to understand what ppl are trying to say. Things like 3d and Wii rumble are gimmick because very few of the gaming library actually utilize it.

You can do this for Sony and Microsoft too:
No The Last Guardian for ps3 despite several announcements for it on the ps3, no external HDD support for ps4 until very recently, no backwards compatibility for ps4 (the company that played its part in pioneering that aspect of gaming now shuns it), no external assets for Bethesda mods on ps4, no free online, no scalebound, no easy refunds for that digital No Man's Sky purchase for ps4 despite the crashing problems the game had (and may still have), no 4k blu-ray playback for ps4 pro, no portability for ps4 and x1, no up-to-date hardware on ps4 pro: the tech inside is old by PC gaming standards, no more support for Vita, no more support for ps3 and 360 despite adoption numbers being greater than ps4 and x1, no way to turn off the light on the back of the dualshock 4.
Going back to points raised, some I agree with. Others, not so much:

I would like to see you build a portable/console hybrid gaming device and sell it for less than $300. What's That? You can't? There's a big surprise! I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!
I'm getting so tired of all these dumb-ass childish rants from people who have no-fucking-clue how hard it is to bring ANY product to market...much less a product that strived to be something different and new.
