Kings Field came long before Demon Souls. From Software kinda always did this. Otogi while not Souls like is MUCH MUCH harder than Ninja Gaiden games and IMO better. Frame Gride is like Virtual On mixed with Armored Core and there is LIGHT elements you would find in a Souls game. It's kind always been there for them. Demon Souls was taking Kings Field tweaking it and making it third person.
