There's nothing wrong in finding something "interesting" about the female body even if we know it's not real. I believe that gaming is capable of portraying females now in ways that couldn't be achieved in the 64-bit era.
Take for example Final Fantasy X-2. I will admit that I was really impressed by how real the main characters looked like. The way they moved and everything seemed so real, and since they don't have oversized breasts, it simply emphazises the fact that "Hey, those women could be real you know!"
Sure, some developers like to go all out and make women look like total whores more than anything, which is truly a shame. The female characters in Magna Carta are good examples... I mean, why are they so "plastic looking?"
By the way, gamers are losers as much as music addicts and car/motorbike junkies. We are all "no life" in a way if you want my opinion! xD
And yes, this is all for fun. My suggestion to you is to loosen up, stop being so rational. ;)

if you noticed before, i don't have any problem with female characters in games. i also don't have any problem with their being sexy. my wife thought drake was hot in uncharted...why can't men find the women attractive. there is, however, quite a jump from being sexy to the gratuitous farce that is posted right above this.

I do take your point about a skewed comic-book view of people's figures, though. In the 'sexiest male' thread I rolled my eyes at the physique of Chris (from RE5) because it's anatomically just wacked out. It's good for the bottom line of 24-Hour Fitness, I guess, but it's not a timeless, natural (non-steroid) physical look.
