It's even more impressive there is no one complaining about this.

That is quite deserved, although it's still insane, and even if they keep adding content, I got over it, still bought it twice, 360 then PC

Now they may start heavily discounting it when sales slow down to entice people to spend money on microstransactions. This games has a shot at 100 million + whitout much bundles ( there were some, though). Soon it will surpass Wii Sports!

On the old GTA's I also did the traditional run around the map and kill everybody while trying to survive the cops.
But that fun has been replaced by GTA Online. There's so much to do. A lobby of 30 players. Some killing eachother, some doing jobs to make money, some trying to ruin the jobs people are doing. It's chaotic. Way more fun then the old offline rampages.
And you get rewarded. I've built a small empire on gta online. Earned about $60m and currently have $5m in the bank. And I'm only around rank 130!

I play GTA to play the missions and interact with the world. GTA writing is superb and it`s hillarious. I can`t remember laughing so much with a game like I did with GTA V and Persona 4. The weed missions on GTA V were great.

Yeah I love the single player in 4 and 5.
The true question is, will it outsell wii sports?
Incredible, Rockstar deserves it. Ran pretty well on ps3 considering how bad that console was with open world games, AC2 was horrible in comparison

Well on its way to being the best-selling game ever, if we count only "regular" games that didn't benefit from widespread cheap digital downloads (so that takes Tetris and Minecraft out of the equation). However, not to downplay its success or anything, GTAV has benefited greatly from being a multiplatform release. I'd like to see a breakdown between all platforms, but I don't think it's a stretch to assume that, as far as individual releases go, no one version of GTAV has yet to come close to approaching Mario Kart Wii (36.83M), New Super Mario Bros. (30.8M), or New SMB Wii (29.9M), the three best-selling games excluding games benefiting from heavy bundling at and after launch (e.g., Super Mario Bros., Wii Sports, Sports Resort, & Play, and the Game Boy port of Tetris). Still, GTAV is the most successful third-party game ever. Even its individual ports dominate their respective platform. The PS3 port is still probably the best-selling non-exclusive individual release ever, and at last count it was I think at 21-22 million copies, damn close to Pokemon Red & Blue and Gold & Silver (which are kinda unfair comparisons as well since they're technically two games each) and Mario Kart DS, and way ahead of anything released on any PlayStation system. The 360 version was at last count closing in on 18 million, far ahead of anything else released on any Xbox system (excluding Kinect Adventures, which was bundled with the Kinect). If the PS4 port continues to retain a high attach rate it could possibly take the PS3 versions spot by time the generation ends (though the 30M mark may be elusive), and the XBO port could similarly end up at a very high spot in the all-time individual releases category. |
Considering it probably did more than 25M on ps3 only, I'm pretty sure GTA5 would have sold more than all those games if it was ps3 or xbox 360 exclusive. It's a franchise people buys consoles for
