"I'd rather drive a rusty icepick through my scrotum than shop at a Gamestop... TWICE!"

Actually, I just came back from GameStop during my lunch to pick up my copy of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II.  The manager there is pretty down to earth and knowledgable.  The actually store is a cess pool.

This. As someone in retail, customers like OP are just the worst. We're supposed to ask you these questions because it's our job. We're supposed to get you to spend more money because it's our job. We're supposed to get you to sign up for stuff because, wait for it...

It's our job.

When you decide to take it both negatively and personally, all you're doing is making an ass of yourself. One that every employee will make fun of and mock as soon as you leave. Hell, I've seen customers mock people who act like this, too.

Been there when I was younger.  I remember a sales position where they had this whole script where you didn't take no for an answer.  You just pivot from objections and pose questions in ways to get people to agree to the product.  It sucks and you'd make lots of people angry, but on a large sample I saw it work hundreds of times how easily people could be manipulated into buying stuff.  I definitely had people get mad like the OP and even yell or threaten me or co-workers, but basically if we didn't do that we got fired.  Doing that made me far more sympathetic to sales people.  You can grumble about companies or practices, but the people at the bottom doing the jobs have no say and are just doing it to make rent and buy food.

Whatever. I just want a switch at this point which is not seeming likely in 2017

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

No really though. If you have a local gamestop where they know you and dont have to ask the questions they do its not bad at all.

You may have a rage issue if something as simple as "do you want a card" and "you don't like to save money" pissed you off that much.

So you justify being pushy, aggressive and annoying with "it's my job"? Then I'll justify my position with "no one made you work there". Gamestop is a seedy business that has made a fortune off of lies, agressive, pushy con-job sales tactics and underhanded garbage. They have, for years, sold used games as new by shrink wrapping kiosk, demo discs. In some stores they open brand new games, removed the discs, slide them into sleeves and then sell them as new even though by law, they are not.

Then there's things like this...

There's nothing good about them anymore. The days when Gamestop was needed for this industry are long, long gone and the sooner they die off, the better (and they will).

I have no issue with ebgames (gamestop in Australia).

I like GameStop, solid prices for used games and never had a problem with the guys working there. Just sucks I need to drive to another country to get to one.

My GameStop has pretty gamer chicks. I'd rather have sex with one of the fine ladies than shop at GameStop.
