Forums - Nintendo - Switch size comparison with other handhelds & Wii U gamepad.

I still can't believe a slightly more powerful Wii U is at that size!

I wonder if they can cut down that big black border around the screen in future versions

Yeah the bezel is a bit much atm. Wondering if i should wait a couple of years for a revision. But knowing Nintendo, Zelda will probably still be full price in 2020.

most people dont carry handhelds in their pockets.

I have a DS and 3DS, and they are not pocket-friendly.

People who talk about putting the considerably bigger NS in their pockets are bananas.

I havent seen anybody say Switch is pocket friendly.

I'm glad they are making a big screen. Some 3DS games can be really hurt by the resolution, specially those with 3D graphics. Also, dat Lynx, bigger than the gamepad for a screen the size of the GBA.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think the form factor and size is just perfect. A nice carrying case and you can throw that right in you bag and go with that.

People have been talking about how it will fit in their pockets on every page of this thread alone.

I just said that the DS and 3DS are not pocket friendly, ergo the NS is a worse case scenario.

Now that I see it alongside the Wii U Gamepad and 3DS, Switch is actually smaller than I thought it was.

Pretty amazing to see better-than-Wii-U power packed into such a small device.

its even crazier when you consider its the actual handheld component that has all the hardware for Switch unlike Wii U.

And that the joy cons are detachable so the actual "box" is essentially just the screen component.

yep, imagine how small a console only form factor would be, probably similar to Vita TV.
