Forums - Nintendo - ARMS pretty much confirmed for May release !

During the latest Nintendo financial meeting the following picture was shown:

Going by the order of the covers it looks like ARMS will come out between MK8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2, hence likely in late May to set apart the releases of the games evenly. It's to be noted that in this scenario ARMS would follow the path of the original Splatoon which released in late May as a new IP, with a lower pricetag and the promise of additional content to come later on.

I wish they'd quit playing games with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. If it's not going to make 2017 just say it. Quit giving me false hope

How does that confirm late May? It could just as easily be June.

Not too into fighting games unless it's Smash but I may get Arms. Good to hear it's not far off.

Realize how Wii U had a godly 2014 year and went downhill

I'd rather avoid that. Seeing things spaced out not only makes droughts less common, but makes me think less of saving money for games

Since MK8 Deluxe is 27th (28th in the West IIRC ?) of April I don't see Nintendo releasing ARMS just a couple weeks after that and June is packed with Gaming news due to E3, I don't think a new IP can survive that, at least not a fighting IP.

Plus Nintendo has a history with wanting to come out with a big game in May, they did so with both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon in the Wii U's lifetime.

June saw the release of Tomodachi Life & The Last of Us, both very successful new IP. There is literally nothing about June that prevents a new IP from doing well.

I think late May is very possible but that doesnt mean its pretty much confirmed.

I thought this was a launch title?

Wii U had some great games in 2014 but it still suffered from poor output with Nintendo published titles.

February-DKC:Tropical Freeze

May-Mario Kart 8

September-Hyrule Warriors

October-Bayonetta 2

November-Smash Bros U

December-Captain Toad

3-4 month gap between big releases in the first 3 quarters then a solid Fall/Holiday lineup.

Late May......... same as Splatoon two years ago. Everything is pointing at this being the next Splatoon (next new big IP).

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
