The slimme & thinner the less space they take up, easier to transport ect.
Probably slightly (minimally) cheaper to produce too.
Its a good thing.

Plus their cute.

All good points except the "cute" thing. I'm a man. I don't like cute things lol.

I'm a man and I like cute things.

I am a ma and I like cute things. Someone who is ashamed of liking cute things is not man enough.

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

As it isn't using discs, no reason in having huge cases. It could even be smaller, like Vita and 3DS games.

I mean the reason is pretty simple. It's all about how the case looks to the general consumer. A bigger case symbolizes bigger experiences and the Switch isn't even being marketed as a handheld until probably early 2018. If you had smaller cases not only would the console market take it even less seriously than they already do, but general consumers would be confused why a small little case is worth 60$

I meant to say masculine. I am masucline in the traditional sense. Cute is a feminine trait, traditionally anyway. That's why I couldn't care less if something was cute. As a matter of fact, cuteness makes me NOT want something. For instance, if something is pink, I don't want it. The only things "cute" that I care for are women.

Is that it? Because traditions do change, dear. That sounds a lot to me like you're trying to prove your masculinity. Not taking something because it is pink is somewhat indicative of your struggle with self-identity and perceptions of others. We're in 2017 and I'm surprised there are still people like you left.

Nope. They arent, PSP cases are twice as fat. That is nowhere near the same size.

Hmm, you're actually right. Still, thickness isn't what people usually think about when they think about the size of a game case, so I'd say the effect of thickness on some vague 'size' is kind of small compared to that of width and height. That is, I still think the overall size is pretty close to that of PSP's cases. :P

You obviously don't shelve your games.

Well they don't want to be confused for 3DS games or Vita. One problem Wii U had ESP in the US is the cases spine looked just similar enough to Wii,Stores had to put signs up to tell people early on. Nintendo is doing everything they can down to the small details to show it's not a Wii U or 3DS.

They really seem more interested in avoiding those confusions. Even the new color is completely different from 3DS/Wii U games.

I feel like I'll end up just tossing the cases into a box in case I decide to sell the game later. I'm going to have a case for the console and my games will go in there. This is one of the best reasons to use carts as far as I am concerned.

So much simpler.
