And some still  think  ps4 won't  reach  100mill.It's  a easy given..heck maybe even 120mill if we ever get a 150-100dollar ps4

It depends on the Pro/VR perfomance  I guess. How many gamers will to replace OG PS4 with PRo.

I dont think Sony will rush PS5 anytime soon so yes - 120 mln is possible.

I think it's important to keep that in mind when comparing how quickly these consoles sold/shipped, which you were doing in the sentence I quoted

57M???!!!

An 3.7M on shelves as of the start of January. Which is probably down to around 2.5M by now.

I dare say sony overshipped, then again retailers wouldn't take more if they don't expect to move them.this kinda confirms my theory of a $199 PS4 this year.

No, it is not important at all. We can only guess how PS2 shipments would be if the launch was done properly, as well as we can only guess what will happen if Nazi Germany won WW2.

Real data is simple - PS4 outsold PS2 big, big time. I dont even speak about market circumstances ( PC gaming was shit back in the days, just like Xbox) lower PS2 price etc.

I don't think the Pro/Vr performance has any swya on how well the PS4 goes ont sell. Those things are premium buys in the currect PS4 landscape. They aren't made or expected to sell in droves. I have said it many times, the base PS4 sku will always be the sales leader and driver. With consoles, cheaper is always better.

It really doesn't matter. So with the PS2 it came out for 8 months in one territory before coming out everrywhere else. If that matterred then we could also be saying that by now the PS4 sales should have dropped off a rock being that all its sales were probably front loaded while that of the PS2 were staggered over time.

Can't quite make one argument without making the other. But PS4 sales hasn't dropped off a rock, this current quater shipment number is the higher EVER in playstation history. And compared to a year when PS2 sales were at its own highest. Sales of the PS2 started a steady drop after its third year. So how does the staggered release theory explain that?

I disagree. I talk more about 2018/2019 sales. In 2019 games on OG PS4 will run like a garbage, just like late PS3/360 ports were.

I still have this butthurt that Pro doesnt give us 1080p/60FPS games. Sales would sku-rocket big tim.

I never quite get it when people say what you are saying......

Try and understand something. The PS4 has always been and will remain a 900p/1080p console. The Pro is designed to run those same games at a higher resolution and IQ fidelity.

Those same games.

What you seem to think or say about the pro just goes to show you don't really get what position it plays in the market and to who.

Unless of course you believe that by 2019, 1080p/900p games = crap.

You should then also keep in mind that the Japanese console market was much more vibrant for consoles in the PS2 era, we live in a Global market now. They are right sold is sold with the west having to make up a giant fall in Japanese sales these days.
