Forums - Nintendo - Nier Automata On Switch is possible

Basically if Square wants to, Platinum will send the game to Switch, though I'd assume it would involve a studio like Tantalus or something porting it over.

Always good news.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I think it may have something to do with Square owning the IP, but i'm sure at the very least Nintendo could put in a good word

wait, wasn't Nier a PS4/PC exclusive ? didn't Platinum have some kind of deal with Sony ?

I'm much more interested in that Super Nintendo version.

To not release it on Xbox One perhaps, but appearently nothing involving the Switch. Although it remains to be seen if this game would even catch on with the Nintendo audience.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Nope PG were just contracted by SE to develop the game.

Technically every Japanese game could be ported to Switch (the only exceptions might be MGS V and FF XV).

Square owns the IP so Platinum can't just put it wherever they want. Though given that Square is closer to Nintendo these days than, say, EA or Activision it could pop up: though I suspect it would be a later port and would be announced in a Direct and not on a big stage like E3 or something.

Would be nice though. Then again it comes out in late Feb/March so for all we know it will end up like that desert game the X-Box had...Recoil I tihnk it was called.

Cool. Prefer it on PC though.
