I'm not buying anything that requires a proprietary memory card ever again. So, that's my only real requirement.
Aside from that, I just want max power and lots of good games.

I know what I said.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Basically the idea of the Switch cross bred with a PS4.
Handheld system that plays PS4 games. PSN titles would work on either, meaning day one library would be massive. Physical ports to carts would be possible as well. Would like significant internal memory, so one terabyte.
Oh, four shoulder buttons, can have the DS4 touch pad on the back like Vita does.
Release 2019, price $249 range. I'd buy that day one.

i think he means Switch is what he wants from a Vita successor.

Name: PSP2 Compleatly backwards compatable with PSP/Vita games via Store 32GB Flash storage with mini memory card slot up to 256GB NO physical media, codes come im boxes so they can be sold in stores Ultra Thin, better built quality his thing only needs to be slightly more powerful then the Vita Has a better internal build like the PS4 so its alot easier to port games (games like COD could be ported from the PS3 build for example) Ui is like that of the PS4, not the Vita
Those are just a few things i would want, i know it wont happen but if it did i would want it to feel like its seemless with the PS4 |
this list sounds more like a Vita revision than it does a successor.

honestly, sony shouldn't bother. that said,..
1. actually is portable (unlike switch).
2. able to double as an android phone
2a. means i don't need to carry multiple devices.
2b. access to android apps means support for netflix and the like.
3. APIs that make it ridiculously easy for indie developers to port lower spec'd ps4 games to the portable because let's be honest,.. that's the only way developers are going to support a portable these days.
4. no gimmicks (rear touchpad) but functions as a fully capable ps4 controller (clickable analogs, triggers) so that remote play doesn't feel so awkward.
might as well have a (separately purchased) stand that makes it easy to export the screen to a TV just so nintendo fans can cry about how sony never innovates and only copies nintendo's ideas.
i honestly love my vita but it's support is basically limited to titles that go cross-buy with ps3/4. i'm fine with that. just make a portable system that is actually designed to be a portable system with specs and APIs streamlined enough to get good support for the next 6 years.

I would prefer a Linux OS over Android any day but yah, the point is that. Being able to run my stuff on it :)
