According to the Foxconn leak the switch is much closer to Xbox one in terms of power compared to the Wii u so wait until the switch is butchered after release to get the info on switch's insides. Also 1 teraflop of pascal tegra custom chips is apparently more powerful when compared to the old tech inside the ps4 and Xbox one. It also is apparently more efficient with using just 10 watts of power to get 921ghz compared to 1.4 thz of Xbox one using 75watts. So perhaps if for once Nintendo stop being so green and over clock the heck out of this GPU they can get to Xbox one levels of power or more. But all of this is the speculation of analysts and as I said wait until the switch is butchered before calling it weak or strong hardware

I don't know about all that I just saw a very convincing video that it was less powerful than the nvidia shield. Which is bad. And not close to xbox one.

I don't care how convincing it is. Unless you heard it directly from the makers or someone who butchered the system, its just a rumor. That's why wait until march. You'll get the actual specs soon enough

Its less than that, and has to be underclocked since it can't handle the heat produced otherwise.

Did you help Nintendo design the system? Or did you get an early copy which you proceeded to open up and find out for yourself?

Correct, most likely a custom Maxwell tegra

How do you know? Did Nintendo tell you or you got the system early which you opened up to find out?

What would that video be? Foxconn leak is spot on so far, with translation errors regarding 1080p and 4G. The fine lads over at NeoGAF speculate 510 - 650 GFLOPS undocked and 910 GFLOPS docked, combined with the fact nVidia FLOPs are more efficient than AMD FLOPs and developers have the option of optimizing processes like cacheing and rendering (some stuff) to use FP16 instead of FP32 allowing them to squeeze out more performance. This is based off the info provided by the Foxconn leak, but also heavy speculation since we don't know the CUDA core count or how customized the chip is, so take it with a grain of salt, many people on this forum would call that insane.

The point being that the video was probably talking about the Eurogamer leak, which was very likely based off a developer kit, and they were speculating about the X1. So far everything points to the Foxconn leak being legit, and that being the final hardware.

I would like the remastered Dark Souls Trilogy. Mostly to get the first Dark Souls running great on a console.

Can it run smoothly on Switch?

I could of sworn I read the dev of Dark Souls 3 said they had it running on switch... Now that it appears switch is only a slightly more powerful wii U I guess that was a lie? Does anyone know anything about this or am I just thinking i heard that?

So people actually still think this?

The switch is weak hardware on so many fronts compared to the other consoles. Its extremely strong hardware and very versatile compared to any handheld console before it. I think if people just looked at it like this, all their expectations would be tapered and we could all just move onto accepting it for what it is.

It was unverified, but it seems people took the rumor as fact.

From Software is on their list of developers who are supporting the Switch, I'm sure they have something in the pipeline. It's not like Nintendo has revealed everything there is to know yet. I mean, we recently learned that Lego Worlds is coming to the Switch through a tweet of one of the leading developers.

Thé Key word is" level of performance they are happy with "

Back then it Made people believe Switch would have current gen power while i told them it precisely proves thé opposite

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

No, its just facts. Nintendo will be using the same HW as the last gen Nvidia shield, and according to DF that is already underclocked. While it is technically possible it can reach around 0.9tflops at peak performance, understand this is at a regular clock speed, and that peak performance isn't usually sustainable. Most consoles need to be underclocked so they don't overheat, so I don't see the Switch being an exception.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
