I am thinking it has taken so long because when I looked Tekken X Stree Fighter was still slated for this year as well. And they are seeing how well Akuma would be implemented before moving forward with that game. It is odd though just now getting a Tekken game when on PS3/360 we had Tekken 5: DR, Tekken 6: BR, TTT2 AND Tekken Revolution.

Very interesting......so I wonder what plan it is they are following now. I mean I am hype for Tekken 7 seeing as Tekken is by far my favorite fighting game franchise.

You know, I forgot about that announced game. Maybe they will finally make it and with more success that SFxTekken had. With 50% of the characters in it and Akuma to test how to adapt SF play style to Tekken limbs style, it might come at some point, but thinking it'll be an end of gen game.

Just from watching how well Akuma flows in the game it already seems as if it would EASILY be FAR better than SFxTekken was. But you are right, it will come later on in the gen. It would be nice if they did TekkenxSF but used the TTT format and use two characters.....would make for a HUGE roster.

Lack of a Switch version is incredibly bizarre to me...

Shouldn't be really...

Resident Evil 7, Mass Effect Andromeda, Injustice 2,  Red Dead Redemption 2, COD and more big games are skipping Switch...

Nintendo calls Switch "a home console" that can be played on the go, 3DS isn't going anywhere and Switch is extremely underpowered as a home console.

Wii U had Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as a launch title, but it was just slightly upgraded PS3/360 version as Wii U was slightly more powerful than these (at the time) 6 and 7 year old consoles.

Now we are 4 years into 8th generation and Nintendo comes up with 9th generation home console that is 3-4 times slower than Xbox One, which was already considerably  weaker than PS4... 2013 consoles >_<

Vita got tekken 6 so i cant see why switch couldnt run tekken 7.

Fuck Injustice. Tekken 7 for life. Whose trying to catch this ass whoppin? My Kazuya CAN NOT BE STOPPED.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Not really.....not really at all.

Incredibly?....why?

How compatible is the switch with unreal 4? If it's not, clearly that's the reason. Namco just put Tekken 6 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP, and had to remake the entire game for each of those three consoles. It's not a question of anything else.

If namco thought the time was worth the money, they would have done it. They've proved before they could have. Never thought I would have seen Tekken 6 scaled back to PS1 specs.

Namco have given Nintendo quite a fair share of support. They did port TTT2, they did work on MK8 and Smash. And T7 is UE4.

I get that T7 might be too much for the hardware, but I would assume that NintendoxNamco relations would allow for work to be done on a downscaled version of the game. It is not like Namco have never done this before (T6 on PSP)

TTT2 was a port some time later after it's release, we may get a Switch version but most the games Radek listed have been indevelopment a while so adding another console to the list would delay them even more (well except Red Dead, no one is sure why that isn't on PC at the moment.) If anything they'll get the versions they are working on done, released then work on a port to release before Christmas maybe, if they are going to.

Harada's was the creator of Pokken so the realtionship between the 2 companies is good, I think really they may be working on getting Pokken to release on the Switch first if anything.

Hmm, pie.
