Thats the funny thing, if you read wat some posters say you would think that MS all round di much better. In truth they did worse than they did before, they just did worse less than the PS4.

This is like saying, they both did worse, and PS4 still won, but since MS did less worse than the PS4 then MS kinda won.

Anyways, the holidays are over. Lets see who wins the following months now. I would only give MS credit if they actually start winning more months in a year as opposed to throwing everything at the end of the year.

Have all the prices been restored to pre-holiday amounts?

Well, kinda....

The PS4s price has gone up from its holiday $250 uncharted bundle to a current $267-$270 price point so I guess thats a $30-$33 price drop.

The XB1s is also around the same price but the ogXB1 is still at $250 or in most cases lower.

Whats funny, is that the ogPS4 actually costs more than the PS4s.

I think so far this gen what we have seen is the holiday price, or something close to it, becomes the official price shortly after.  I haven't paid attention at all this year though so I have no idea if that is still holding true there.

So far, Microsoft's temporary holiday season price cut has stayed true to its name.

Thanks, guys.

And it will still sell well lol!

That's called competing. Sony also had two new models available for this holiday and a $250 system with the new Uncharted 4 this holiday.

So if Microsoft offers XboxS at $130 and sells 3 million units that month, is that also called competing? There's seriously no logic here from some users.

What counts is the desirebility of the console. Which console sells more when put on equal footing?

In that scenario, Microsoft would indeed be competing, but very unsmartly.

"More competitive" in the US, where they won by a very large margin last gen... And they now fight dramatically to just reduce the monthly lead of the PS4, but keep losing there, while being stomped easily in the rest of the world.

Hum... Hurray?

Well, if they weren't investing and had simply stopped trying they would get stomped in the US and beaten by an even larger margin. I don't see how what they are doing is negative. They are investing and becoming more competitive.

I don't have an X1, but it's good for everyone if the competitions is better. Monopolist PS2 Sony resulted in the company that tried to force a 700 bucks overpriced console to the market. MS beat them and they had to improve their game with the PS3 Slim.

If these are accurate MS didn't actually do better Ps4 sales just dropped.

So they're both down YoY, despite the new hardware. I wonder if this means this gen has peaked. This Holiday will be the big test.

How reliable is the source?

And the PS4 Slim was a good bit cheaper than Xbox One S - often by about $50.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I would believe this if it came from a more credible source.

Windows Central is constantly doing this with "their sources" without every having any valid credence to them.

Why isn't this coming from Eurogamer, Gamespot, IGN, etc? It's just Windows Central and their "sources".

If they could validate these sources I wouldn't have any gripe at all

both system did good

cant wait to see FF15 sales tomorrow
