Um...yes. If you want a new Nintendo console but don't want a handheld you're shit out of luck. You're choices are to either spend $299 on a "console" that wouldn't cost anywhere near that if it didn't have to be portable, or don't get a Nintendo system.

If you dont like the system then dont buy it but that level of entitlement is ridiculous, is their product and they are thinking on the market as a whole, wether it satisfy your particular needs or not is up to you to decide.

The consumer wanting a product that fits their needs and desires is not entitlement.  That's a ridiculous statement.  A company might not always be able to supply what a customer is asking for but the customer has every right to ask and any business worth a damn will at least listen.

It should at least come with 1,2 Switch to show off the Joy con features :/

Not that I would play the game anyways :p

Sure, but dont make it look like someone is screwing you just because the product they have decided is the best to not destroy their chances on the industry is not exactly the one that fits all your particular tastes or needs, there is always this subtle tone of entitlement in those things that I dont really get.

Yes, and the calculation they made is that a large enough portion of their userbase care enough about handhelds that they can focus on that. Enough of their players are either handheld exclusive, or play on both handheld and consoles that it made the most financial sense.

However, that means that if you're someone who is a Nintendo fan, but doesn't play on a handheld, Nintendo no longer has a system for you.

It's not a sense of entitlement. After twenty years of buying their consoles Nintendo has said they don't want my business and I'm not the only one.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Maybe the news is that they can't sell it for less than 300$ or even include a game for that amount. Because if that's what Reggie is trying to say, it means that Nintendo won't be able to react and make a price drop if sales aren't as high as they want/need without having big losses.

I ca't believe I'm defending Sony as opposed to Nintendo, but the PS4 launched $100 cheaper than its main competitor while being more powerful.  Switch is weaker and closer in pricing to both of its competitors now.  Even if the HD rumble and other features justifies the price, this is one time Nintendo should have bit the bullet and put 1-2 Switch as a pack-in.

His complaint is perfectly valid, especially considering that Nintendo has changed business models and that the drawbacks of hybrids are well known.  You're being over-defensive.

Personally, I understand why they're not offering two models, but a $250 "home console only" version bundled with a Pro controller would have made me much happier.  If I bought a Switch, it would probably never leave the dock.
