Seconded; it's an endless cycle of "They got people to pay for that crap!? Steve, make us some of that crap, too!"

Ps3 had some insane tech in it that meant it had to be priced that high.
XB1 was under powered and with a dying Kinect brand keep its price up way too high. If the machine was more powerful then the ps4 then yeah.
I've no interest in EA access. if I did I'd get it on my PC. Those 6 titles I get a month with ps plus keeps me satisfied. I don't own fallout 4 but I seen my ps4 friend talking about having fun with mods on them recently. Good for him!
Now this is a touchey subject, but how are all those jrpg titles you were promised on xbox getting on? Playstation has a shit ton of them releasing this spring. Last I heard xbox had one of its few jrpgs coming cancelled. |
I think this is a fair point, because this conversation was preceding by a bunch statement like "MS really brought it this generation."

Nintendo reinvests less into improvements for their customers despite having billions in the bank. A lot of their services clearly lag behind the others. Why? They have the capital to hire experts. They can afford to improve every aspect of their product portfolio. There is no excuse for not updating to at least be on par with what Sony is doing, a company that has much tighter margins. There is no good justification to be so far behind on features that benefit your customers. |
I feel as though that's more complacency and/or stupidity than "money grubbing."

XBX in portable form is ONLY playable on the N3DS. What software is only playable on PS4 Pro? SNES VC, might be a minor incentive, but could work on 3DS but ONLY playable on N3DS. What software is playable on PS4 but being withheld for PS4 Pro? N3DS and PS4 Pro are only equal in that they dont automatically enhance all software. |
I don't really recall N3DS enhancing any games. Meanwhile, I've seen a fair amount of companies talking about how the Pro will enhance their games. I mean, that is one of the primary reasons the console was made.

Errrr, so sony selling a VR headset (that mind you is the cheapest VR solution on the market today) is them being money grubbing? In that case I doubt you understand what it means to be money grubbing.
To OP, without a doubt I will say its nintendo. I think I stated it earlier in this thread. Who else sells you a console without a power cable and then goes on to sell said power cable seperately?

I'm really looking forward to see what you will say WHEN nintendo actually reveals their own VR headset.

And you are an expert on money-grubbing because a company sells something for $10 extra? |
Whwn that something is a power cable? Something that EVERYONE will need? Then yes, that is the literal definition of what it means to be a money grubber. Taking something essential out of a package just to have people spend more money to get them.
You want me to give you more examples?
add a controller grip to a box that doesnt support USB charging, then sell a seperate grip that does for $30. Before said console is even released.
don't add an ethernet port to a dock and make a seperate dongle for ethernet ports and sell it for $30.
I don't have to be an expert to call a rat a rat. But indulge me, explain/dismiss these away.

Nintendo by a mile. They *never* give consumers a good deal, even when it is obviously in their own interest to do so. This is going to be a primary factor in their impending demise.
| RolStoppable said: I don't need to explain these things away. I just need to inform you of the PlayStation Vita which had no internal storage as well as game cards which didn't necessarily hold save data, so a memory card was essential. The first problem was that the system didn't come with one. The second was that Sony made these memory cards proprietary, meaning that people couldn't use regular SD cards like on the 3DS (relevant sidenote: 3DS shipped with 2GB of internal storage AND a 2GB SD card). The result was that 3DS owners could buy 32GB of extra storage for ~$25 while the equivalent for Vita costed ~$100. Your turn. |
THANK YOU!!!
And its stupid shit like that that made me never buy a Vita. Yes I never DID. And instead opted to buy a 3DS for my nephews.
These conversations would go a lot differently if you didn't think that everyone that calls nintendo out for something they do to be an enemy or something you need to defend.
