Supervision, and work along those lines. He may not have composed the majority of the music in the Super Mario Galaxy games, for instance, but he set the tone. By set the tone, he built a foundation the younger blood could work off of.

iirc he's become a supervisor for the musics of most games, he wasn't the main composer for Skyward Sword either
