Two questions:

Do we know how much the subscription is going to be?

Do we know if this is going to be a set game, or can you choose whatever you like?

I haven't seen/been able to find answers to those questions, so think it's perhaps too early to gauge it against existing services. I get people being up in arms over this, but it isn't coming for a while yet there's time for Ninty to gauge the response and make changes.

Considering how much people bitch and whine every time the PS4/X1 free game line up is anything other than a recent AAA retail game with this just being NES/SNES games... it seems like it`s going to be even worse than them.

I don't know about you but Super Metroid is a better game, regardless of age, than anything the PS4 or Xbox One gave away this generation. You're forgetting that Switch is going to be giving away legendary classics.

Clearly, they've hired some company to sabotage their online features.

Classic Nintendo move. Masters of pissing off people.

I'm really curious to see the actual price for this online service. If the only meaningful thing to gain from it are discounts, access to content you've already paid for, and glorified rentals for games more than two decades old, and they have the nerve to charge more than 10€ per year, this is going to be laughable.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Well, somebody's got to make up for Wii U's lost profits. I vote you.

But I'm not European.

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

Yup, only confirms the fact that Nintendo doesn't understand online in any form or case. They're so out of touch

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

That's just so fucking bad. I really wonder what the pricing for the subscription service is gonna be, it would be outright outrageous if Nintendo has the balls to charge anywhere near a XBL Gold or PS+ subscription.

It seems the whole Switch product line and software line up is designed to extract as much money as possible from the end consumer but then you have the big question why would anyone buy into this?

Surely such money can be better spent elsewhere. Even if you are super rich surely there is a limit to how much you will allow yourself to be exploited.

Whatever you think of either company and its consoles Sony and Microsoft have provided amazing value in comparison.

And I'm sure they're confident people are dreaming about all those wonderful NES games they're going to play for a month.

Nintendo has a really really faithful fandom (almost religiously so for some people), and they think everybody is the same. It's stronger than PS and Xbox hardcore fandom, some people would even be able to pay a lot more money than $300 for Zelda (even if it's cross gen). They don't realize that this fandom is really restricted, and diminishing. So I'm sure they're really confident about what they announced for the Switch, they just mix this restricted hardcore following with the reality of the market. Not sure if they will wake up before it's too late.
