The analog sticks look like they have a short throw. Shouldn't be too bad with fighting games.

The right joycon. So you don't have a D-pad when you only use the joycons, but I think these are mostly supposed to be used in multiplayer and party games.

When you connect the joycons to that thing, you can use all the buttons.

you have to use motion controls to perform d-[ad functions. throwing your hands up up/down down/left right/left right/ a b/ select start will get you extra lives and a high score in just dance.

Sorry I misunderstood the thread I thought it was to with the Switch joycons not having a traditional d-pad as the buttons are seperate.

I think they copied Sonys DualShock controllers how it is seperate.

They aren't seperate. It's just sunk into the controller.

He means they arnt connected in the center, like Nintendo's D pads are (the cross).

In that sense hes right, they are 4 buttons, but they have that star shape in the center, that means their so damn close to a D-pad, that at first I was like "what does he mean it doesnt?".
