No they cant, this needs to be able to run perfectly off of the cartridge (they are supposedly all non writeable ones).
With 32GB disk space, relying on patches for games just isnt viable.

Hold on, though. The impression I got from the video was that he was saying playing with the Game Pad was a lot smoother than playing with the Joy Con Puppy-thing. He said aiming with the Puppy was very difficult in comparison.
The girl said there was a lot of texture pop-in but I think she also said it wasn't the final build.

Hasn't the Wii U version been done for months? I imagine that the Switch needs to be tuned up and will be. They won't botch a Zelda game.
The Switch looks like a disaster. I'm terribly sad that Nintendo has failed again.
