Forums - Nintendo - Sooo.... Will you Buy Switch Day 1?

Day 1 Purchase?

I will never buy a Switch 249 33.88%

Total:735

I lack the money and interest of a slightly better Zela port and seemingly expensive Mario Kart port a month later. Splatoon2 should be good but too bad online isn't free anymore.

That said, if Switch does bomb and Mario becomes a pack in even at $300 I may find some cash around just for it.

Unless 2D Metroid comes out soon I doubt anytime soon.

yes, have preordered it. honestly like many the Switch Presentation left me kind of ughh ehrm-ed out, especially with the lack of announced titles, but too hyped for Zelda not to. Also, like others, I don't trust the supply chains and how many Nintendo will ship out. The NES Classic shows they seems disturbingly comfortable with not providing enough of something to maintain demand. Originally I didn't think that was the case but here it is January (2 months after the release of the NES Classic), and people still somehow can't find them in stores. The Big N may be doing some of this deliberately

I would have waited to buy it in store maybe a few days after release if I wasn't concerned about that. Anywho the Zelda hype is real

wanted to. but will stick with WiiU as I have a ton of backlog, but i will constantly check and feel the need to buy it. don't want to end up with the Wii/NES classic issue. We don't know yet, but lets see how the market reacts, and I wanted to know more games coming soon, Xenoblade 2 though. and all those JRPGs. :D

Yeah! Preordered.
I must admit base on the response mainly from The Verge, Reuters and pretty much all mainstream press the presentation has been underwhelming.

Couple with higher than rumoured price and only one quality launch title it isn't looking good at all.

Horrible accessory prices. Looks no more powerful than the WiiU.

The Switch has the same signs of the WiiU written all over it I am afraid.

edit: Might cancel pre order and get Zelda on WiiU. I will sleep on it.

you're exaggerating in terms of power. nothing on the Wii U (included its version of Zelda) look remotely as good as this clip of IGN playing Breath of the Wild in handheld mode::: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC8MVY5zzAI&ab_channel=IGN

I agree with you in terms of the overpricing of accessories and the lack of announced titles (especially for launch) BUT graphically obviously in the dock the Switch will probably be like multiple times more powerful than the Wii U at minimum. If it in handheld mode already looks massively better than practically all of Wii U games then that's pretty telling

Yesterday I said no. Saw more Zelda footage today. Day one. Can't possibly wait, even if I feel robbed tbh.

Jesus H Christ.
Down here in Mexico the price, buying in preorder is the equivalent to $490 USD...
Say goodbye to Mexican Nintendo Fans...

I didn't see that one last night, how much was it?  I did get my order in on time for the special edition and it looks to have everything but the master sword statue.

$129, I heard Gamestop had them up for pre-order, but they sold quick.

Mine was $99 and it only excluded the master sword statue.  That seems a little expensive.

I'm a Nintendo fan, so of course Ill get it whenever it launches here, but my hype has gone way down.

Sorry but no, i don't see you as a nintendo fan.

I'm a nintendo fan, and that's why i won't get the switch until a long time, because i'm really sad to see the actual nintendo, i followed them since gameboy.

A fan don't buy everything blindly, they know when you need to not support the compagny when it make awful choices.

Fair enough. Guess Im just hopeless then.

Ohh, I thought you were asking me how much the Master Edition was. I actually got the same one you did, but cheaper. Since I have Prime, I only paid $79. Prime gives you 20% off all new games. That's why I always try to shop on Amazon or Best Buy. Best Buy Gamers Club is actually better. 20% off any game old or new release.
