Forums - Microsoft - Confirmed: Scalebound Cancelled

I think Square Enix could be the new publisher and then the game with another name can appear on PS4. But only if enough players write the developer and Square Enix. Would be better than if it does not appear anymore. Now it's up to everyone, writes the developer. The success chances for the game would be good then :)

The problem is Microsoft doesnt seem able to develope something like that.  Fable legends was supposed to be like that.

They bought Minecraft, they didnt make it themselves.

Regardless, this is what's happening and many of us have been saying it for quite some time. Shinobi has also heard similar things from devs. They're not interested in consoles any more, they're interested in a service they can spread across all Windows machines and DLC the shit out of it.

The PS5 Exists.

You really think MS owns only the name of the IP? That's not how it works.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

Man wtf does MS even have that will release now

What's confirmed besides Halo Wars 2 Feb 21?

Cuphead, Crackdown, sea of theives, state of decay 2.

Is the lineup for 2017.

It looks small (the list) when theres like 30-40 games for the PS4 in 2017.

Quality and quantity of games in 2017, that are 1st or 2nd party, are heavily in favor of PS4 this year.

Why did they make the XB1s and planning on releasing scorpio if they dont care about consoles?

Shinobi even said that Crackdown 3 is having some problems, not as big as Scalebound but still. I could see it coming 2018 instead. We still haven't seen it since Gamescom 2015, same as Scalebound. It was announced in E3 2014, yet we've seen more of SoT which was announced E3 2015.

Perhaps Nintendo is right and it is time to scale down to more manageable hardware. It seems the market isn't big enough to sustain games that aren't a guaranteed hit, and thus can't make back their AAA budget. Too much stuff needs to be added into games nowadays to make them jacks of all trades to appeal to the widest possible audience to justify a big enough budget to stand out graphically.

It's pretty horrible for the developers to get their game cancelled after working so hard on it. This all or nothing approach is hurting the industry.

The market is plenty large enough.  What really needs to happen is tightening up efficiency and some developers need to recognize their limits before embarking on a venture.  Looking at this situation, Platinum spread itself far too thin to be embarking on an open world project - their FIRST open world project.  And companies have to have faith in more than just the "guaranteed" successes cause if you don't market worth a darn the game won't sell no matter how good it is.

If they were confident enough to say it will launch before scorpio im sure they are reaching their development milestones and that its on track unlike Scalebound and PG.
