Led by Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft is bringing more titles to Valve's digital distribution service than any other publisher or developer.

Valve Software and Ubisoft today announced an agreement to bring more than 40 Ubisoft titles to Valve's popular digital delivery platform (more than 15 million accounts worldwide). This commitment from Ubisoft represents "the largest library of titles available from any single publisher or developer to Steam," according to Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve. He added, "The incredible selection of high quality games from Ubisoft expands the range of genres offered to the millions of PC gamers logging on to Steam every day."

Ubisoft's blockbuster Assassin's Creed is already available for pre-purchase on Steam. In the coming weeks, Ubisoft will bring franchises like the Tom Clancy series, the Heroes of Might & Magic series, the IL-2 Sturmovik collection, Far Cry, and more to Steam. Digital packs of many of these will also be made available.

"Ubisoft is excited to be able to offer Steam customers the ability to purchase our upcoming PC releases of Assassin's Creed and more," said Andy Swanson, senior director of strategic sales and partnerships at Ubisoft. "In addition, we really believe that Steam customers will enjoy access to our wider range of award-winning, previously released titles as well as future AAA releases such as Far Cry 2. We look forward to working with Steam and continuing to strengthen our commitment to the PC gaming community with innovative products and wider distribution channels."

Cool, I was hoping they'd get onboard the train before Far Cry 2 at least. I might give Assassin's Creed a try if it's cheap enough sometime as well.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Nice! It's really good to see the PC industry finally jump aboard the digital distribution ship. PC gaming's not dead, just evolving.

How long until we start to see games being streamed through the internet? Sky have been streaming basic games through satellite for years now. And Runescape, of course, is also a fully streamed game.

Steam is taking over!!!

Awesome, I love Ubisoft and I might give Assassin's Creed a try if I take too long to buy my PS3.

Sweet I get to try out AC soon now.
