Hey guys I just noticed I received a ban. Can't believe you did that over christmas. You put Ebeneezer to shame.

My comment wasn't trolling Sony/MS. You know I don't mind admitting to trolling when I'm guilty but this was another occasion where I wasn't aiming at Sony/MS.

You guys can do whatever you want and I'll rarely complain but could you at least let me know where the line is?

I can troll 12 Switch and Labo all day without consequence but the second I proposition that certain games aren't worth their RRP, I get banned. I don't get it.

Is it possible you could set out the rules explicitly so I know where the boundary is?

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

PPS. Nintendo is on a course that will destroy MS/Sony so I'm not interested in trolling them like I was 2 generations ago. I'm happy to accept that both companies are making exclusive games that warrant their current place in the industry.

(TLDR: I keep getting banned for trolling when I'm not. I'm not the type of person who takes credit for something they didn't do. I've never denied that I troll and I'm honest. Just ask me and I'll admit to it.)

I dont want any bans repealed because they balance out the times I've got away with it. I just don't like being accused of things I didnt do.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

So, after much deliberation, and plenty of feedback from the community, we adjusted the rules to better work with the site and rapidly changing climate. Feel free to have a look!

We will treat them as general guidelines. It is not a Forum Bible. Of course, stuff like homophobia and racial insults will be treated with the harshest penalties, but we will try to do much more to work with you before enacting a moderation. It will be on a case-by-case basis, considering the infraction and history of the user.

Remember that if you do not like something a user said or did, you can report them anonymously. Do not hesitate to use that button, even on moderators, should the need arise. Be sure it is something that needs that kind of attention, however. Overuse (or abuse) of that function is highly discouraged.

Thanks everyone!
Your Mod Team.

What changing climate?

Would it be possible, if a member is banned for a post made in a news story, review, or article, to include a link to where the infraction occurred?

Are you asking if we can provide links to the article a member was banned in? If so, that's generally something we do in ban notes, although admittedly we can forget sometimes, lol.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. I have noticed over the years, that bans that take place in news stories, reviews, and articles, have a very high chance of having no ban note on the members profile. Conversely, ban notes are almost always present on the profile if it occurs in the forums.

I see CGI just linked to an article ban.....but I stand by my assessment. I'm not crazy.

I honestly don't know what to say then, I've never had that problem myself lol :P

Also stop lying, you've always been crazy <3

I've noticed this for years Bristow. Years!

Maybe I'm overestimating the prevalence missing notes from news section bans, but it really is a thing.

Nope! You aren't. I'm currently working with Talon on some fixes and this has been suggested before. In the meantime, moderators will have to be mindful of moderations like that and add a link to the note.

Sweet. I figured it had been brought up. I may have even witnessed it and forgotten. There's even a raw nerve tingling that's making me think I may have said something about this in the past. Thanks for the info.

Hey beautiful mods (CGI especially)

My theory on how how the games industry is going is that a '4K Switch' will destroy a PS4-Pro/PS5. (PS4 Pro is clearly losing, PS5 is TBD). My theory is that the 'hardcore' would rather have 4K Nintendo console that a XB/PS 4K console.

Going forward, my posts will reflect this because I think it's inevitable.

I want to avoid being banned for my over confidence so any advice would be appreciated.

(Edit: I called Wii as being revolutionary, I called Wii-U as being a flop (no-one trolls WiiU better than me) and I'm one of the few who has predicted 100-150M for Switch since before it's full reveal)
