After a lengthy discussion, I've edited the content of the Necrobump Rule Bullet. Hopefully, a little more clarity is obtained through it.

  • Necro-bumping (Namely posting in a non-Official/Moderator approved thread 30 days after the most recent post) will be treated as a form of Spamming if the post has no valid reason for being posted, or treated as a form of Flaming/Trolling if the post in question is malicious in its intent. While every necrobump won't require permission, if you are unsure, check with a Moderator.

I created a thread in which I made predictions for throughout and the end of the 2018 year for hardware sales.  Some of my predictions came true, and one will come true soon.  2 out of 3 were on par and my third one was way off (and will not come to be), but was the one that gathered the most hate.  I wanted to bump it in Jan 2019 to admit I got one way wrong.  The thread has not garnered any attention within recent history.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

I have a question in light of reaction to thread locking is it possible to lock a person(s) from a thread rather than banning or thread locking,
Ps . do we now have two head mods ? or am I just slow on the uptake.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Yes individuals can be prevented   discouraged from posting in certain threads.

In 2007 and multiple times trough the years I mentioned we should look into a future where users we get banned over and over again because of trolling flaming whatever on nintendo/Sony/MS/Polictis boards instead get banned for that board.

It's more effective because a large group just creates an alt account while banning from a board decreases the numbers of alt accounts. Also bans can be longer and more strict.

Let me apologize in advance for this post, as it's not appropriate for the thread. However, I'm hoping the mods or another longtime member may have an answer. Ahem. How is it that a bot that posted 1 time in 2014 has the most profile views in site history? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/111816/babson/ Was there some kind of perverted campaign to make this a reality?

Spurge probably got it right in his wall post there. The bot must have refreshed the page non-stop for awhile, IIRC that's the same way Squeezol got high profile views. Oh and Squeezie's profile views are actually higher than that bot, so it's not quite the most profile views in site history

Ahhh, yes. I forgot it was possible to increase profile views by refreshing. Thanks man. I owe you a coke.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Should probably remove the URL from his biography just in case someone makes the mistake of clicking the link of the (2nd) most famous profile on the site.

Well, I don't know why you're thanking me, but I'm always happy to accidentally help with something.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
