Yeah, this is an every console launch thing.   People just happen to notice it more when it's about a console they aren't as intersted in.

Meh... I've never been interested in the XBox One at all, and never had to complain about the number of Xbox One threads. I don't remember seeing 5 threads a day about Xbox One rumors, and never saw threads complaining about the number of PS4 threads either.

But we can't say anything for sure without official forums numbers.

There were, for sure, but it didn't last more than a year, barely a few months (and it wasn't based on almost nothing, but on official info). The main difference is that we already had so much of these threads about Switch for more than a year, and the console is not even revealed yet. If it was just a lot of threads between the January reveal and the March release about what Nintendo revealed, I wouldn't say a thing. But we were already flooded by NX threads a year ago, and often had several threads about the same small baseless rumors. The "Is this the NX?" became a known joke for a reason ^^.
