I doubt it would release in the west this year. We havent even seen any gameplay

What exactly does that have to do with anything?

Someone in this thread said end of 2017

This is not news. We just had Heroes and Builders, games made with hyping the west up mind.

and the same producer said he felt those games are helping prep for DQ11 to be released.

I do wonder if his exclusion of DQ7/8 mean that they aren't bringing the 3DS version over? That'd be really weird unless a Switch version is super far along.

Not only do I hope DQXI gets localized for a U.S. release, I hope that one day we get a Dragon Quest collection that has the original and remake versions of all the Dragon Quest games up to at least VI. The West got stiffed with Dragon Quest in the 16-bit era. I really wanted DQV & VI and the 16-bit remakes of the first three NES games, but we never got them.

Well there is a rumoured  ff collection  that contains  1 till 9 sooo, maybe if thats true  and a success  they will do that  with  dragon Quest

DQ1-6 are all on mobile in their latest iterations. I can fully recommend those. Played through all of them myself.

WOW I'm surprised, a major SE game is gonna get localized.

I hope they also localize DQX, the mmo. It's a shame they never HD remastered DQVIII for PS4 though.

I've read some bad things about it, but haven't tried it myself to say for sure.

There's absolutely no reason to doubt the localization of Dragon Quest XI lol

Ya i dont know why anybody would have doubted it, multiple remakes and spinoffs have been released in the last couple years. It would be really weird if DQVII, DQVIII, Heroes & Builders were localized but the next mainline title.

Playing DQ Heroes, and was thinking just yesterday how much I would like a DQ collection for home console. I'll probably play Builders later this year, but some straight up turn-based DQ action is what I want.

For some reason I always assumed that it would be localized even though Square-Enix had not officially confirmed it. But it's great to hear practically a confirmation that it will be brought to the West.
