Question for everyone.

Since the weeks and months never align perfectly (well, except when a non-leap year February starts on a Monday), I've been thinking about instead of having each month having weeks 1-4 (1-5 on March, June, Sept., & Dec.), I should simply do what Media Create does and number the weeks #1 through #52. I'd still do the months by the 4-4-5-week cycle each quarter, just changing the numbering scheme so I no longer have to keep talking about last month's "Week 4" days into a new month's thread, or about next month's "Week 1" days before the new month's thread is up.

So, you guys think I ought to start doing it like that?

I just thought I'd put that out there since the rankings from this week will be up later today even though the thread for February won't be up until tomorrow and the initial rankings for Feb. not being up until Thursday.

I think that's a great idea.

Yup, makes sense..... i think the threads should still be labelled week # to whatever # and the month that encompasses those weeks. That way it doesn't confuse some people.

I wonder if Horizon can beat BOTW.

Install base of PS4 would suggest that it can... but I doubt it. Well, a number of factors have to be alligned.

  1. if horizon meets critical acclaim (90+ meta) and word of mouth for the game is great then at best it will push around 3-4M sales on its own.
  2. if (1) happens then it means it will no doubt get a holiday season bundle which will pad its sales to around 8-10M.
  3. If teh NS takes off like the wii or 3DS, then its safe to say that it will go on to have very very very loooong legs.
  4. Don't forget that not only is horizon an exclusive, its also an RPG  and even worse its a new IP. It doesn't yet have anything near Zelda status.

Oh! I was just talking about on Amazon chart. If Horizon can pass Zelda. In terms of sales, it can go both ways. The Switch version already has that 2mil stock holding it back at launch.

It is more like Dark souls, but quite a bit harder, from where it threw you in.  There is much more gear progression than you would get in a souls game though for armour.  So no doubt some people will get all the best drops and breeze through it, and others will have no luck and cry in a corner.  I hope some nice Wiki sites spring up for the game though.

Surprised World of Final Fantasy is at #9.
Also Horizon Zero Dawn is looking like its gonna be a sales hit.

Has February gone up yet? It was a great month for games this Jan, and February is looking to keep the ball rolling. Good to see people confident of Horizon enough to jump in now. I hope it does well.
