Forums - Microsoft - Crytek needs to fix the difficulty of Ryse if they make a sequel (Opinion)

While fun, this game isnt in the least challenging to anyone who has hack n slash background. The enemies are basic and the bosses are too. I am playing on hard and only 75% of the way through and ive only died a minimum of two times and once because I didnt save my guards. The attack patterns are even more basic than Batman Arkham and the portions taken from God of War pale in comparison. The only chink in my armor that the game seems to have created is that you cannot double block tandem attacks. If they fix this then we'll be rockin' next time. Lets hope theres a sequel because its a very promising game.

I don't think they care about this game or a sequel at the moment. The IP probably contributed to their downfall.

Yeah. I played it recently. It's like this game exists to be a graphics showcase and nothing else. I heard the online is good, though.

That's Crytek.  I remember these long walks through the ruins in Crysis 3 where nothing happened.  I'm looking all around for enemies but there is nothing.  I finally figured out that I was supposed to be drinking in the wonderful graphics instead of fighting bad-guys.  I guess my priorities were messed up.

They must care about it somewhat. MS wanted to buy the IP and they refused to sell it to them, even though they were near bankruptcy at the time and really needed the money. They also didn't sell it earlier this month when they were once again in dire financial straits, instead choosing to sell the Warface IP and close 5 of their studios.

We don't know what was offered for Ryse.

The fact that it was exclusive contributed to their downfall. Too many people took Microsofts money and risked their companies money. Truth is, unless the games IP's are owned no third parties should be making exclusives. Its extremely dangerous. Look at full multiplats this holiday season. The market was so saturated that they had to drop new launches by twenty dollars just to sell more copies over the holiday.

It could be more, but Microsoft doesnt know any better. I suggest Crytek goes to EA or WB to make a sequel. It should not be exclusive. If they hook up with EA they need to use the same team who ripped off God of War and made Star Wars The force unleashed to help.

LOL I always wanted to play a Crytek game growing up, but once I finally did I was no impressed with the gameplay. They did the right thing taking a part out of Sonys book with the story. They just need to work on the gameplay to create some depth and variety.
