Forums - Gaming - Games that have zero replayability.

I used to replay games a lot when I was younger, though looking back, it was mostly due to having a surplus of time and a limited number of games. Now that I'm older, I have more games, but less time to play them...which basically means replaying games falls right to the bottom of my backlog. And when I have 20+ new games to play, replays pretty much fall off entirely.

This is largely why I've grown to dislike long RPGs that give important extra content in the 2nd playthrough. Unless the game is a 10/10...there's basically no chance I'll experience this extra content.

This sums up my situation aswell

Uncharted .....

Mainly all puzzle games, Portal 2, picross, Pushmo, Layton, though you can come back to them a few years later when you forgot how to solve the puzzles.

if a game is good then it automatically has replay value, you can't tell me "oh that game was a 10/10, but i'll never play it again" if you say that then the game wasn't a 10/10

Any game that the main focus is the story (like visual novels).

It applies the same as like reading a book or a watching a movie twice. You might want to check it again after a few years when you don't remember all the story details, but is not something you will play constantly or often.

And besides, most story driven games are puzzle based, so when you know how to solve the puzzles, the gameplay loses it's charm.

Usually there are multiple differnt story archs (paths), and differnt endings, that vary depending on choices you make.

So those types of games you could easily play more than once, just to see how the story changes when you pick differntly.

Overly long games. As much as I love Witcher 3' I'm sure as hell that I won't be playing it again because of laziness XD.

Im going to with puzzle games.... they offer the least replay value I feel.

Story driven, adventure games, RPGs can all be replayed easily again if you enjoy the actual gameplay elements in them.

Like how many here havnt played through Persona 3/4 atleast a few times? first for funsies, then for 1st time perfect scores? trying to get rare items ect ect.

Im one of those crazies that if I enjoy the combat actually can enjoy grinding :p

Alot of Final Fantasy games, have many play throughs. So those guys saying long RPGs are wrong imo.

*edit:

This is like with books & movies though.... most of the time, you ll watch/read them once and that ll be it.

It has to be a good game to get replayed, not all games are.

Games I finished that I instantly never wanted to play again include:
Most Racing games their campaign (Forza, Gran Turismo etc) unless its season-based (like moto gp or so)

The Order 1886
(because the story was the best part but supershort and the gameplay lacked, also the graphics which where great will just become worse over time)

Catherine
(Loved the story, amazing game and it has tons of replayability but the puzzle gameplay was wayyyy to diffult for me and way to much of a struggle, so would never play again because its too hard for me to enjoy)

Pokémon games
(always love one run, but the gameplay is quite repetative and never get back to it after I finished everything I wanted to)

Any Telltale game, until dawn and Quantum Break
(all great games but all "my story" with the choices I made and replaying them for stupid things like trophies/achievements or to see all the possibilities ruin the story for me)

Im sure there are a ton from the NES-SNES area and dreamcast and stuff, but I don't really remember at this point :D

Every very long western rpg

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I think replayability is different for each gamer. The reason I play games 95% of the time is for story. So if I find the world, character, and plot boring I'm less likely to return to that title. Not going to lie though, gameplay at times can have a large part to do with it if the macanics are broken or frustrating to use.
