Please don't be like DQX! That would almost make me get the 3DS version. And what if the Switch is the PS4 version but with the 3DS combat. Omg I'd get that.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of X either and I hope they don't go that route. I was just thinking maybe you can choose what type of battle system you use. I think the PS4 version and 3DS version will have the same battle system but the PS4 version will just be at a larger scale. I think they've learned from Dragon Quest X not to ailenate their fanbase.
