I don't touch my consoles lol so I'll probably never be aware of my Slim's temp.

Ask Sony.

Is your room temp generally hot?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Being hot is good, means the heat is being dispersed. Cold consoles suggest the the chips are melting. I'm contemplating picking up the XV slim special edition next weekend, i bet it will be the same.

I live in Brazil, it's hot even during winter, lol.

Loll well currently its like snowing where I am at and that place you suggested is warm atm so... I think it makes sense why your slim is so hot. Idk if it's actually worrysome since I don't actually touch my consoles and the slim/pro is new hardware but meh. As long as it is within the suggested operating temps, you should be fine.

It is odd that it is hot during rest mode though. The PSU should be at a minimal usage so maybe call Sony if you are worried.

Heat on the out side of the system is not a bad thing in the slightest though, as long as they're not in some enclosed area you really want them to be hot outside and not inside, I wouldn't worry too much about it though, pretty much any computer electronic now will shut down long before it gets to a point where it will suffer damage from heat, the only times there is exceptions to this shut down are by manufacturing mistakes or just oversights in the OS.
-Red Ring of Death caused by poor solder
-Wii GPU damage caused by the system generating a lot of heat in standby mode by connecting to the internet without fans powering up.

Like I said, unless it starts to shut down on you don't worry about it, just make sure you got a nice ventilated area at the back of the consoles and of course make sure it isn't resting on carpet! That'll murder a console.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

When you live some place cold and its winter, and your like "yeah baby, heat up this room" :p

Luckily I live in a place where consumers are protected. If my PS4 were to break down due to any internal issue suh as overheating, I'd be entitled to a replacement by law

But since you don't live in Norway idek. It's probably not an issue, but it seems like other users here have a better idea of this than me.

I have PS4 Slim and its hot but I figured that's actually normal for PS4, and most likely older PS4 version are even hotter.
