Forums - Gaming - Double Dragon IV announced!! Ps4/PC

Wow!!

Arc System Works has announced Double Dragon IV for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. It will launch worldwide on January 30, 2017. In Japan, it will cost 800 yen.

The latest entry in the legendary side-scrolling action game series Double Dragon uses the same 80s visual style, but adds various new elements. Additionally, every mode can be played by two players at the same time. The story picks up after the elimination of the Shadow Warriors in Double Dragon II.

The game features the original staff of the arcade version of Double Dragon, including producer Takaomi Kaneko, director Yoshihisa Kishimoto, character designer Koji Ogata, composer Kazunaka Yamane, and programmer Kei Oyama.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Double Dragon IV? How is that possible?Double Dragon V came out in the 90s, so how'd they go backwards?

Because they skipped IV.

I don't think Double Dragon V was ever released in Japan, either, so they may not count it as official.

That's a surprising news. Hopefully you will be able to play this coop online. I'm surprised to see they are using the same 8-bit assets and not making it a 3d game like neon or 2D high quality like Ducktales.

OMG!!! Excited... Watches trailer... tries to hold in the tears.....because... that looks totally crap...

I'm all for retro graphics (to keep it in line with the original), but they could have at least made it look like the arcade version instead of the NES. Now it really feels like a quick project to make some cash on a 30yr old franchise.

There was no Double Dragon IV, there was the SNES one between 3 and 5, but no IV.

Oh ;o.....

Probably gonna use those assets maybe?

Oh I see, Super Double Dragon isnt IV.

Lol - guess they'll do it somewhere between III and V then.

From the video, it doesn't look to have anything to do with the SNES game. Seems to be using assets from Double Dragon 2. Which is the best possible scenario, IMO.
