Forums - Nintendo - Super Mario Run, but Nintendo's Share Value Tripped and Fell.

If it was cheaper I would have bought it. $10 is already higher than majority of the mobile titles and on top of that, it only has 24 levels! And always online drm!

If this flops, it's Nintendos fault for not understanding the market

Yeah, I facepalmed when they said it needed internet connection constantly.

But even at 10 dollars, it wont flop. Its just this benefit more Nintendo(as a marketing tool), than a profit revenue for investors, since this is a more bnrand awareness thing than anything else.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

"Who would have expected that?"

"This person"

"One person doesn't count"

"The why did you ask the question?"

He simply answered your question. If you didn't want that answer, you could have phrased it differently. Also, he's not the only one.

Except my question was clearly rhetorical lol and if you are going to answer to my question "who would have expected that the free game was downloaded more times than the 10$ one?" then the correct answer is not "this person", it would be "everybody but this person" and that's the point of the question, to make you realize by yourself that this was the expected thing for mostly everyone.

Yes, that was super obvious. Doesn't take a scientist to figure out.

Yea but it feels like they could have made so much more money if they got rid of the drm and priced it 1- 5 dollars since that is where majority of the mobile games are priced. It would have appealed to a lot more people.

It has a lot of replayability though, look the IGN review. No way this is gonna flop, quite the opposite actually

The internet thing is the only I don't understand, I mean today is easy to have internet all the time in your mobile but I just don't understand why that is required. They should drop that eventually.

Edit: Ok I think this is clearly to avoid piracy, but they should find a more user friendly solution.

The shares dropping has little to do with Super Mario Run and lots to do with Nintendo's prospects on other fronts. Seeing mobile efforts do really well and then seeing the Switch set to release and go head to head against this very market, in addition to more traditional ones, is bound to scare quite a few investors, so long as their main efforts lie in consoles and more costly software at least.

So does every other mobile game...

And yea mobile does have internet all the time but a) shit reception at times b) data caps.

I do hope it doesn't flop but if it does, we know why

I have an iPhone but I'm not even going to try the free version of this game, because I'm not interested in 2D side scrolling Mario games these days.

However, I am very interested in the Fire Emblem game.

That's just about how I feel. I'm cautiously looking forward to the Fire Emblem one.

Guess shareholders aren't impressed?

But that's what stocks do, go up and down and after the recent high, it's bound to go down again
