Regardless there are much better times of the day for a global audience, that's all I have to say.
5 AM in Europe? No way, I'm not waking up that early to see a console presentation.

Nintendo is still very Japan centric company, you can't say that for Sony especially for MS offcourse.
Maybe you could make some better time, but fact is in any case some time zone would be screwed with its time.

They could have done
8am PT
11am (NYC)
5PM EU
Midnight for japan.
But Japan is such an important market they want to do it during the day.. So screw the 500 million people in the EU. Including me.
Anyway, I will probably get up for the event.
