Definitely Salt and Sanctuary.

Metroidvania meets Souls with a Sphere Grid level system and a wonderful level of character customization. 

Plus it was GREAT tricking a friend into using A Stained Page. "WHAT'S HAPPENING WHY ARE THEY KILLING ME."

I only bought 3 games released this year (Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Bravely Second and Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse), but i still haven't played any of them 

While I'll use my Christmas avatar in about two weeks, in the meantime I'll switch over to a Dragon Quest Builders one. It's a game that blends Minecraft with JRPG elements and does it really well. As a single player experience I'd say its definitely more enjoyable than Minecraft since there is a more in-depth story, quests and progression. Pokemon Sun/Moon would be a close second but I haven't played enough of it to make a judgement call yet.
