Way too early to call this greatness.

A lot of question marks around games like God of War, Death Stranding, Shenmue III, and Deep Down. And games like Days Gone, Detroit, Dreams, and Horizon are coming from studios with less-than-impressive track records.

I will say I'm super pumped for Nioh, Nier, and Spider-Man. Once again third-party developers save the day.

And just to cut off any angry responses: yes, I own a PS4; yes, I've played other games by these studios; yes, I'm a real gamer despite my disagreement with you on what constitutes greatness; no, I'm not trolling. Hopefully that will reduce the number of people triggered by accidental contact with a contradictory opinion.

I very much agree with this post. So many games shown so early, a lot of which are probably 2018/delayed next year games. And judging by the first party shown, I'm not impressed either. Horizon needs to prove itself from guerilla games, and I feel media molecules gameplay has always been mediocre. The rest have come from less impressive records. And yup... most of these games I care for come from third partydevs.

It does shows a lot of variety and I would say a third of them look good which is not a bad number, then again after Ps4 has been selling so much is logic so many developers put their efforts on it.

As for me, I only see about 4 games I'm interested on and they will be released between 1-3 years, that is not a lot of games per year, If wasn't because PC exists I would probably buy a PS4 but as it stands I personally find too little reasons to buy it, maybe The Last of Us 2 can convince me in 2018/2019, maybe.

Then saying something like "Studios with less than impressive track records" means absolotely nothing. Just say, "I don't really likes the games these studios make".

No, it means something. It means that I'm of the opinion that Media Molecule has a less-than-impressive track record.

You've posted on this forum over 5,000 times. Have you always felt the need to preface every post with a disclaimer that the following is a personal opinion?

Probably not. When you wrote that A Muppet Christmas Carol is the best Xmas movie, I'm pretty sure the forum knew you were speaking for yourself and not all of humanity.

I wouldn't say it means absolutely nothing, it can just be usefully debated, due to the idea that we're not talking facts. In my eyes, for example, Media Molecule has quite an impressive portfolio (and, if we were to used my unfavored view of The-Meta-Measuring-Stick, an impressive numeric showing, as well [80s and 90s are impressive]).

Really, running with "but in my opinion" is the strongest thing we have, and fortunately, no side cancels out the other.

Yeah, that's fair enough. My bad guys, carry on!

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
