What do you mean?

Everyone and their grandma hates "giant uncomfortable" Wii U pad. It's magically non-issue now with Switch.

The Switch might look smaller to them though.

Ikr! Never would I have thought that Nintendo would make something look that good! Before someone quotes me, yes this isn't the most premium looking device we have ever seen but damn, it looks mighty fine to me!

I feel that there is too much white text on the back, otherwise it looks fantastic.

Not top tier but better than anyone could of expected from Nintendo.

Mhmm. If I had to guess, most of that white text won't be there in the final version cause since this is most likely an engineering sample so that text most likely says that if it gets stolen, please return it or get sued. But don't quote me on that though.

Edit: Just to support my theory, here is the Switch from the trailer:

Granted it doesn't have the Switch logo either but I think the text will be minimal

As I go to bed, also wanted to say Super Mario Run looks fun.

Well, the Switch is slimmer than both the Wii U pad and even the 3DS, without the docks it's the same size as a New 3DS XL, but much slimmer, so it'll fit a lot easier in my jean pocket, I can tell you that now.
And I always found the Wii U pad to be comfortable, so no complaints from me. ;)

For it's asking price and what it can already do, it's got my attention and could very well get my money too if the cards are right for the lineup and support.

Also that top vent, there has to be some sort of fan in there right?. USB Type-C, fuck yeeeeee.

1) the Switch unit is smaller than the gamepad (which is a truly sad commentary on the Gamepad)

2) the Switch has two other means of controlling it when not using it for off tv play that are not bulky at all that came bundled in, the Wii U did not.

3) the GamePad was bulky for no adequate reason, here the size is a trade off for the specs they are achieving.  Making it any thinner would limit the chipset, remove the fan, limit the clock speed, and limit how much they could augment the Tegra in the system.  Shrinking the GamePad would have cost us...a front facing camera and speaker size.  Yeah, not an even exchange.

Also means possibility of active cooling.  This thing sits at the absolute cusp of being incapable of having a fan in it.  I will gladdly trade pocketability for being able to run at a higher clock.  And right now it certainly looks like it has a fan in it.

Soundwave: I put everything in my jean pockets. Of course, I wear jnco and kikwear pants so everything fits in my large pockets.

Nuvendil: The console must have the fan in it because the dock seems to be missing a fan...

1) Soundwave was not saying that it would fit in his pocket, he's saying that no one puts their handhelds in their pockets cause that long ago became a bad idea.

2) No, I say the Switch has a fan because it has a fan vent on top that can plainly be seen in the reveal trailer and in this live demonstration:

And also because the Switch is just within the thickness range needed for a fan to fit.  It's only a bit thinner than the base/keyboard portion of the thinnes ASUS gaming laptops.  Take away the space needed for the keyboard (the Switch doesn't have one obviously) and bam, you are pretty dang close to the Switch's thickness.  Besides, an internal fan is crucial to getting the most out of a system and getting consistent performance while controlling heat.  A fan in the dock would be a neat supplement but it would not be an adequate replacement for an internal fan.  I've been saying the device itself has a fan inside since the reveal, regardless of what the dock has.

Fair point, I did not consider that.

Yeaa I think that is where the outtake is. There are some ventilation at the bottom so the fan will probably suck the air in through there and push it out through the top since hotair usually goes up and cold air goes down.

And yea!!! USB-C Hype!!!!! Come on Quick Charging, please oh please make it happen cause then, it will help a ton if the battery is not up to snuff! Specially since you can get car adapters and battery packs that support quick charging.

Imagine, USB type-C, Quick charge, 3DS style battery life, GC VC games, built in web browser like with the 3DS and Wii U.

The viewing angle is quite good! I think it could be an IPS backlit screen which would be super fap worthy (unless its already been confirmed!)

Or even better (subjectively) OLED.

OLED has lower power consumption and has faster pixel response (think ten times faster than high end TN panels, forty times faster than good IPS).
