Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: From Software Currently porting Dark Souls 3 to Nintendo Switch, Possibly Dark Souls Triology to Follow

Interesting. The rumor states that they got a XBone/PS4 port running acceptably and that the reason they are waiting on deciding whether to publish the the port is that they want to see whether the system will be successful first. If true, then it's a good sign for future third party support and the possibility of receiving this gen's multiplats.

Do we even know what resolution the screen is? More importantly, what size is the screen?

The 6" screen on the switch is rumored to be 720p.

I have completed DaS & DaS II on XBox 360 and PS3, and I have both in Steam too (but haven't played the series in PC yet). Got a PS4 just for Bloodborne and DSIII. If they're releasing the trilogy, I would DEFINITELY buy it for Switch instead of other platforms. Portable Souls+enhaced DaS & DaS II? I'm in! =D

The more, the merrier.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

id totally get the trilogy on switch eventually.

That sounds great for people who have never played Dark Souls before, they're great games. Currently playing through Dark Souls 3 on my PS4 right now.

The Switch needs more third party games like this as well.

If true, I would buy this.

Well, Bethesda Softworks more than laughed, they lambasted Nintendo about the Wii U.  So this wouldn't be the first publisher Nintendo has caused to do a 180.  Also, with regards to the Switch trailer with the basketball scene, it is common etiquette at public basketball courts to play on rotation so that each group of people can use the court.  The point of that scene was that rather than whip out your phones and play a crappy mobile game or just twiddle your thumbs until it's your turn again, you could whip out the Switch to play something more substantial (and yes, a lot of people who play sports for fun like sports games).  If you look closely in the trailer, you can see another group of people who called next take the court while the group the trailer fovuses on takes a break.

While it's good to exercise lateral thinking, and I found your explanation of the basketball scene somewhat acceptable, I'm dying to hear your explanation about some woman crashing some rooftop party to play Mario.

That's probably just them giving a nod to the whole "party system" shtick that people liked and still like about the Wii, but in a way that highlights the unique portability of the Switch.  I mean, it is pretty cool in principle.  And let's not forget LAN parties were a thing that died not just due to the internet but more due to plain old inconvenience.  And I think Nintendo also wanted touch on the social aspect, the fact you can take it to a friend's house or a party because a lot of young adults now are quite social and I feel that scene in particular was aimed at that crowd.  Which is the brilliance of the trailer, it systematically targets multiple demographics, each in a way that would appeal specifically too that demographic.

One must ask if the general audience of said trailer is able to excercise such lateral logic when watching them, though. Subtle highlights often go flying over the general audience's heads.
