Forums - Sony - FF XV is AMAZING - I loved it. (about a 40 hour play through for me)

I've played close to 30 hours, currently in chapter 8
A tale of two sides. Combat is as good as I already knew it was going to be, quite fun as indicated by the demos, but everything else has been disappointing so far and it certainly does suffer from the modern mostly-western idea of quantity over quality of so many open world games, with the difference that the combat is good here, unlike those games. A straight up semi-linear FF with with this combat would have been the bomb. The open world brought 0 benefits. I'm gonna need more time to understand whether i like this more than the FXIII games and Type-0 or not, because so far I do not have an answer to that question

ps I think i've done ~4 dungeons. two of them were decent/good, the other two were really boring and lazy (just walls of stone all the way)

I'm in chapter 8 right now, put about a days worth of playtime into the game. If it had good writing (or hell even just remotely decent writing), then it would be a masterpiece of a game I think. As it stands, the beautiful world, the creative variety of monsters, and the flashy combat that always makes you feel like a badass keep you playing and mostly enjoying the game. But basically everything that involves somebody opening their mouth, or laying out the story, and side quests......dear god. I was talking about this with a friend the other day, and he tells me that even FFXIV, an MMO, has better writing than this....a single player RPG. How fucking sad is that?

So ya, it's two sides of a coin. It does some really nice things, but you can't help but look at that other side and be sad, because it could have been so much better.

Annoying like they requiere specific scenarios during battle to make themselves available, so you cant summon them whenever you want or need.

I am still in Chapter 3. Last night I went to Golden Quay and banked 80k experience at double value - jumped from Lvl 35 to Lvl 45. Epic!

Going to go home and progress the story now though. There are still plenty of interesting and challenging battles around, and the hunting contracts can be intense, but I am way overpowered for the main story now.

well I noticed that i have issues even fighting lower level enemies sometimes if they are hunts or main quests... at least i use tons of potions ...not realy way to boost your defense without cooking some food

I read somewhere in game that the same enemies you encounter in the wild are much stronger if you encounter them as part of the hunts or other quests.

They made them too much powerfull , that was the stupid design idea, when they appear is bye bye to any monster, so they had to made those fucking scenarios for them to appear.

i know titan you need the party to die, but how about ramuh? what are the conditions?

Ramuha, you need to have Notics go below zero then he or Shiva will appear.
